Industrial Controls Specialist/ Sales & Technical Support

Our Industrial Control Tech Support Specialists actively and continuously work to improve company procedures and processes. There is NO travel involved in this position - no visiting customer sites, overnight or weekend work! We work in a team environment serving customers by troubleshooting issues and answering technical pre-sales questions received via, phone and email. Questions may involve any product that Direct Automation sells from any product silo which include: PLCs, HMIs, Communications devices, Drives/Motors/Motion controllers, Process/Fluid Power, Power Distribution and Industrial Components.

Responsibilities:

  • Customer Support/Troubleshooting - Provide solutions to customer issues received via, phone and email. Maintain internal database (Salesforce application) of call information. May conduct technical research, testing and re-create customer issues using actual equipment and configurations to assist in trouble-shooting.
  • Training – Attend team meetings and training sessions to learn new products. When not taking calls, may also train/re-train on existing products to increase knowledge.
  • Documentation – May create application notes, review product documentation and suggests updates for hard-copy or online documentation as needed.

IIOT Sales/ Support

We require an enthusiastic candidate to lead the sales, customer support and promotion of our IIOT Software and Hardware.

IIOT Sales and Support

As a Technical IIOT Support Specialist you will assist in the Customer Care process and will be the liason between the customer and supplier, building strong relationships within the industry as well as providing technical support.

Initially this role will be focused on the sales and promotion of KEPSeverEX:

  • providing data access for client applications (such as MES and SCADA)
  • big data analystics software via OPC, Propriety protocols (Rockwell AB, Omron Siemans etc)
  • IT protocols (including MQTT, REST, ODBC and SNMP) and
  • flow measurement export to common industry formats.

 

Successful candidate has:

  • Ability to sell/ excellent communication skills (telephone engagement is essential)
  • Knowledge of industrial automation
  • IIOT Knowledge: OPC standard, IOT protocols
  • Ability to work well as part of a small team.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Lead generation and development
  • Customer liason, with a focus on sales and support
  • Assist in the promotion and demonstration of connectivity platforms
  • Pre and post sale processes
  • Working collaboratively with other departments.

 

Success for this role will be measured in terms of new customer acquisition, customer retention, engagement and satisfaction. This is not a Quota Carry Position.

Salary is open to negotiation based on experience and industry knowledge.  As direct sellers, the role is generally office based (minimal travel required).

Learn new products and technology as new products are added, Communications experience with Ethernet networking desirable

Responsibilities: Customer service functions related to phone, fax, and email requests, including follow-up and assisting customers in selection of industrial control products.Telephone customer support. The successful applicants must be reliable and be team-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and have the ability to multi-task.
